Across 24 hours, participants took on one of the most mentally demanding formats in endurance: 3 laps every hour, 6.81km at a time, with only the remaining minutes left to rest, recover, refuel and reset before going again.

By the end, FORGE had done exactly what it was built to do.

It tested legs.
It tested lungs.
It tested friendships, focus, strategy and the ability to keep moving when the easier option was to stop.

A Challenge Built Around The Return Line

From the outside, the format sounds simple.

Complete the distance within the hour.
Get back to Basecamp.
Recover.
Start again.

But simplicity is what makes FORGE so brutal.

Every hour brings the same question:
Are you going again?

As the event unfolded, the Return Line became more than a start point. It became the centre of the challenge. A place where nerves settled, tired bodies gathered, teams regrouped and individuals made the choice to continue.

For the individuals, it was a final push to determine the 2026 APEX FORGE Champion.

For the teams, it became a shared effort no relay, no rotation, everyone moving together.

By then, the event was no longer just about pace. It was about everything that had happened before it: every lap completed, every difficult hour survived, every moment where someone could have stopped but chose not to.
